In 2005, I received a warm phone call to come for tea by a beautiful woman named Helen Mogenson. She was my neighbour over the hill and she thought we should meet when she read an article about me in the local Boulevard Magazine on Vancouver Island.

I met her amazing family and fantastic husband Hugh. I was mentored in compassion from this couple and Helen’s persistent drive to create “Peace” on earth during her lifetime. This lifelong partnership of Helen and Hugh and their beautiful family is a testament to what true family and community looks like. I call it a huge honour to be a friend to Helen and Hugh and bare witness to the change and love that they’ve created in their community…they are the real deal and an inspiration to our upcoming generations of model citizens. They ordered 7 sketches for their entire family based on the words Compassion and Springtime. These are the moments that I created from their words.

Thank you Helen and Hugh for everything, my gratitude is immense and you  have changed my world in so many ways. Thank you for modeling compassion, true love and generosity. Leanne
